5 Installation

5.1 Hardware

Following steps provide the exact sequence need to be followed in order to properly install the

MiniPCI to PCI Bus Adapter from AMFELTEC Corp.:

• Turn OFF host computer before installation.

• Remove the chassis cover from host computer.

• Insert Flexible PCI Express Cables to the connectors on the MiniPCI Interface board and on

the PCI Backplane.

• Install the Interface board into the motherboard MiniPCI slot. Place and retain PCI Backplane

inside the chassis. Connect power for the PCI Backplane.

• Plug-in expansion add-in boards into PCI Backplane.

Now, you can power-up the host computer.

BE SURE THAT TWO LEDs on the PCI Backplane: D2 (GREEN) IS ON and D1

(RED) IS OFF! (Upstream Link status and RESET signal).

BE SURE THAT GREEN LED D4 and BLUE LED D3 ARE ON!

(Downstream Link status and PCI Backplane PRESENT)
